Sven B. Schreiber (sbs) Frankly, I didn't follow the discussion about the 369 million pound refurbishment of the Buckingham Palace, and it appears that they really billed the tax payers for that, in the meantime... So Nat Johnson's amusing protest song with its superb tongue-in-cheek lyrics keeps on standing as a warning memorial against the pitiable waste of public money for questionable purposes. By the way, I just love the cover artwork! :D

A response to the announcement that £369m is to be spent on refurbishing Buckingham Palace - money that could be spent on critical public services instead. The timing of this is unbelievably insensitive.

They strip away the welfare til there's nothing left to take

It's plain to see a better use of all that royal wealth:
Redirect the money to our ailing national health
Don't flush our NHS with a newfangled royal flush
With Mr Hunt pushing it down with a bejewelled toilet brush

Another nice "reunion item" done by Nat Johnson and Kevin Gori in 2016, featuring two of their songs from the 2006 debut "The Bright Carvings". Nat Johnson's Version 2.0 of "Sheffield Shanty" has undergone a complete overhaul, shining with a full-blown wind arrangement now, similar to the stunning "Not Now, Horse" on "Neighbour of the Year". Kevin Gori's "Groucho" - a hidden track then on "The Bright Carvings" - is a quite faithful rendering of the original version, except that he's singing a bit less out of tune here... yes, really!
